No Quarter Fantasy Wargames™

No Quarter is a generic rules system for fantasy 28mm miniatures wargames set in the fantasy world of Genayria. Games can be played from small scale skirmishes to full scale battles using hundreds of figures.

No Quarter uses an alternate unit activation turn sequence in which players take turns is moving and fighting with units until all units have been activated.

More Siege Pictures : 29th June 2008
This game was only played half a year ago, but real life work has made it very difficult to keep up to date with anything other than project plans, risk analysis blah blah blah...

Finally some more pictures have been uploaded to share what was a really enjoyable game.

WargamesUnlimited.com Is Back! : 5th June 2008
It looks like the WargamesUnlimited URL is working again. It has only taken six weeks. A somewhat confusing resolution with two third parties involved each saying different things to someone who does not fully understand the intricate details of web hosting and liability.

A fuller rant may well be posted in the future, but in the meantime I just want to bask in the fact that the home of No Quarter, No Limits, No Frontiers and one day, No Future, are back.

Regency Galleon Progress : 6th May 2008
Even though the main web site URL does not work at the moment, work continues on the new Regency Galleon.

Now if only people knew where to look...

New Year Siege : 1st January 2008
Taking advantage of extra days off work over Christmas and the New Year usually means playing a very big game of something! This year we set up a huge siege with a combined Regency and Khothena force defending their castle with a large Beastman army attacking.

The siege was played out over five turns with the castle wall finally being breached to allow the horde of Beastmen to charge through.

Regency Galleon Started : 30th December 2007
The second No Quarter Naval Battles ship of the line has been started. To go with the Regency Frigate recently finished, a new and somewhat larger Regency Galleon is also based on a Playmobile toy picked up from eBay.

The plan at the moment is to arm the hull with 5 cannon along each side with 3 out the rear and the potential to take more on the foredeck.

Merry Christmas! : 23rd December 2007
Tis the season to be jolly, Ho Ho and indeed Ho.

I would like to wish all the supporters of No Quarter a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

I do not get the chance to update the site as often as I would like, my change in employment back in March this year reduced the amount of time I have to indulge in hobbies, but there is always 2008 to look forward to...the new and rather insane No Quarter Naval Battles game will see the light of day at some point, the rules are all complete, some more play testing is required. It is really just a bit of fun, it not being taken too seriously, just an opportunity to make som ereally big ships and mess around on a very blue table...

Finished: Sailing Ship : 27th October 2007
The first No Quarter Naval Battles ship of the line is finished! This vessel is a Regency Frigate and will be officially launched just as soon as a name is selected. The prefix for all Regency ships will be RNV, Regency Naval Vessel. Something from the Royal Navy heritage will be chosen.

It is armed with 6 cannons with the ability to take additional weaponry on the main deck.

Sailing Ship Model : 23rd August 2007
Some pictures have been posted of a work in progress fantasy sailing ship model based on a Playmobil toy.

With any luck the finished model will look half decent, it should be a good size and when some cannons are added to the hull, its firepower should be impressive. There are a couple of other ships in the works including a massive undead galleon.

8000 Point Chaos Battle : 3rd August 2007
The guys from Derby invited me up for a four player game for the Battle For The Chaos Scepter. With just the powers of chaos on the table, it was not going to be subtle.

Each player controlled 2000 points of chaos nastiness and had to try to hang onto a Scepter found in a ruined temple. The trouble was that each time a model holding the scepter was activated, a random spell or effect would be cast. Anything could happen.

Devourers : 29th July 2007
The number of the beast for the No Quarter Devourer army stands at around 25 and growing. The plan is to pick up more from Rackham as they get sold off cheap in advance of the prepainted plastics being released.

Small And Stout : 4th July 2007
This new Dwarf from Eastern Front Studios looks rather neat, an in house Dwarf army has long been on the cards for No Quarter, and characterful figures like this will be sure to be included.

With the whacky Dwarf figures from Rackham, the steam powered theme will make for an interesting force.

New Giant Treeman : 23rd March 2007
There is a really cool new giant Treeman model from Majestic Bear Miniatures, Not sure how tall it is, but it does look like it will fit into the new Elemental army that has been planned for some time.

Priced at UK£19.00 plus UK£2.70 for postage, this looks like a must have. There is no web site yet, but the model may be ordered from Majestic Bear Miniatures via email.

Armoured Knights : 13th January 2007
I have been looking for some knight models for a while to be added to the Regency army and these new Armoured Knights from Victory Force Miniatures look like they will do the job.

At US$25.00 for 6 models, that equates to about UK£12.75 which is just over UK£2.00 each. Of course that excludes shipping to England, but they do look very nice indeed.

2007, The Year Ahead : 2nd January 2007
Happy New Year to one and all from Wargames Unlimited!

It has been very quiet on the No Quarter scene for a while now, development work on No Limits, No Frontiers and No Future has heavily impacted on the original Wargames Unlimited game!

2007 will see some new activity on No Quarter with some new battle reports and some more large games featuring the now fully painted Regency Castle.

A long overdue update to the Living Dead army list will be released. This will include the new Ghoul Bolt Throwers from Olley's Armies as well as a new ubber unit of Ghouls.

Potential New Demon Models : 25th September 2006
These whacky miniatures have been released by Wyrd Miniatures and are unusual enough to find their way into the Demon army one day.

Wyrd Catacomb Prowlers

One looks like he is holding a fork (!), but that should not be a problem...

New Regency Models : 22nd September 2006
It has been more than a little quiet on the No Quarter web site for a while, mainly due to the updates being made to No Limits at the moment. That is not to say nothing has been going on, there are some new models for the Regency army for example.

Regency Constabulary

Profiles for these models will follow shorty, but the Constabulary models will be armed with short range pistols and swords whilst the character models will no doubt have some interesting abilities.

Regency Constabulary Elite

Ghoul Bolt Thrower Workshop : 10th August 2006
Bob at Olley's Armies very nicely sent a couple of his new Ghoul Bolt Throwers to be added and profiled for the Living Dead army.

I decided to do a quick modification to the base so the finished model would better fit the rest of the army.

No Quarter In French! : Permanews
Rodolphe Carpentier has gone to fantastic lengths to translate the No Quarter rules into French.

Rodolphe is also working on a No Quarter French web site, so soon we will have a true European flavour to No Quarter. Tres Bon!

Step By Step Profile Creation : Permanews
A post on the forum suggested it may be a good idea to provide a step-by-step guide to creating a model profile. Although the Demon army creation pages went through the model selection process, the calculation process was missing (time I'm afraid). Anyway, the prod from the forum has spurned me into action and a few creation calculations are now fully explained. The Fallen One, an elite Hellbeast and a basic Beastman are now explained in detail.

Ever wanted to use figures from several different manufacturers to make a unique fantasy army? With so many quality figures around from so many sources, one rules system does not allow figures from all manufacturers to be used at the same time. These rules are designed to provide flexibility in structuring forces.

Any fantasy figures can be used in an army for battles of No Quarter. The models used can have their own unique statistics generated by the Model Profile Creator or pre-defined forces can be used from the Army Library.

Compatible with all fantasy figures including Celtos, Confrontation, Warhammer Fantasy Battle and Chronopia.

No Quarter uses an alternate unit activation mechanism which allows players to stay involved in the game.
